Roger Ver, one of the early crypto investors is facing a potential extradition to the United States and a hefty prison sentence of up to 109 years. The U.S. Department of Justice claimed that Ver had falsified tax returns and intentionally undervalued [Ver’s] two companies and their 73,000 bitcoins. Additionally, the IRS alleges that Ver owes $48 million in taxes including taxes from sales of BTC after he renounced his U.S. citizenship. He faces charges of mail fraud, tax evasion, and filing false tax returns.
