Jupiter, a leading Solana DEX, has announced the first draft of its highly anticipated “Jupuary” 2025 airdrop. With a total of 700 million $JUP tokens up for grabs, the distribution aims to reward users, stakers, and contributors.
As per the blog post, the airdrop allocates 500 million $JUP as fixed rewards and 200 million $JUP for variable incentives. Swap users are eligible for 340 million $JUP, which will be equally divided into five tiers based on trading volume. Seasoned traders utilizing advanced features like limit orders and perpetual swaps are eligible for another 85 million $JUP. Stakers and voters within the Jupiter DAO will also receive rewards, with Super Voters receiving a bonus.
Following the announcement, initial community reactions have been mixed. While many users are excited about the airdrop, concerns have been raised about the wide gap between swap tiers and the perceived lack of prioritization for Jupiter Perps users, who generate protocol revenue.
Jupiter Mobile App Incentive
To boost the adoption of its mobile app, the leading decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregator has launched the “Carrots” program. Users who claim their airdrop through the app and stake their tokens will receive additional rewards.
Going forward, Jupiter’s draft plan is still subject to change based on community feedback. The final plan is expected to be released in the second week of January 2025. The snapshot period for eligibility ran from November 3, 2023, to November 2, 2024.
